Map Rugby thrashes LKC

The Maru-a-Pula Senior Boys Rugby team started their season off on a high by beating LKC 15-9. It was the first time in Botswana schools rugby history that the two played each other in a group match, which made the game a spectacle. Earlier this year the team came second in the Jwaneng rugby tournament, hence making them the number one ranked team in Botswana. LKC scored two quick penalties in the first half to give them a lead going into half time. In spite of this, the boys regrouped at half-time, and scored 15 straight points to win the game by a close margin. When interviewed, Prop Collins Churchill responded by saying, “We played as a team in the second half, and the fact that we only had two practices prior to the match is astonishing”. The win sent a message throughout the league that MAP is a force to be reckoned with.

Inter House Soccer

Friday the 28th May 2010, saw the M-a-p inter house soccer teams take center stage to compete in a one day tournament that was later to be known as the "war of the houses." After a day long of kicking and screaming, house L won the lower school challenge while house M won the open challenge. The most outstanding feature This tournament was that it was contested by both girls and boys in the same teams. Now,that may spark up a few arguments about whether girls are fit to play with boys and all the gender related issues but, that's another topic to chew;'food for though they call it.'This oturnament was definitely not the last to be held on the soccer filed because next term Mr Laverick will be organizing the seven aside boys tournament which will be graced by schools such as ISSA and Legae.Considering the case of the "second shibobo league" rumored to be organized by Boasa Roberts,MAP sports archive is yet to confirm the potential event.Keep logged on for the latest news!

Excessive Sadness?

The M-A-P juniors have been done enough damage by their BISA rivals. Although this might come across as harsh but, one gets to wonder whether the fliers they put about excessive sadness and other symptoms of losing were directed to them! Well make no mistake, Coach Clarence is doing a good job with these boys and maybe it’s just a matter of time before they get their plaudits! Keep holding on boys, football needs patience and an eager mindset...

One Difference

I’m not a soar loser but when a legacy is on the brink of extinction you tend to ask the question what happened, and the answer might be, “One difference.” The Eagles failed to soar during their game against their arch rivals St Josephs College as they lost by a single point (34-35) in the dying minutes of the game. For some, this might go down as the worst defeat of time. However there has been no love loss and we hope that the big boys will do it again this year and win the BISA finals.
